The first full weekend of every month, train rides are FREE at Largo Central Railroad, and this weekend is no exception! 

Saturday 10/4 and Sunday 10/5, 10am-4pm, everyone  ages 1+ (except pregnant women) can ride the mini train for free!  The ride is approximately 1.2 miles through beautifully landscaped Largo Central Park and a 'must' for train enthusiasts of all ages! 

Riders must follow all train Guidelines and sign the Release Form prior to riding.

You'll find the park is also a great place to have a family picnic, a child's birthday party, just spend the day, or attend one of the many scheduled events, train-themed and otherwise.

Our Bolts are gearing up for 2014-15 season and celebrating with Fan Fest this Saturday, 9/27 starting at 9:00 at Amalie Arena (formally Tampa Bay Times Forum).

This event is Free, and parking is only $5 to park in any Lightning-owned lot.  Discounted food and beverages will be available, including $2 hot dogs, $1 sodas, $4 beers, $3 pizza slices, $2 coffees and free popcorn.  Special discounts on ticket packages too!


The team will be split into 3 groups for practice starting at 9:30, with a scrimmage beginning at noon.  Lightning players will be signing autographs at 1:15 pm and 2:00 pm.

FL TAX FREE Weekend for Energy Star & WaterSense Products, starts Friday 9/19

In the market for a new appliance?  Maybe just a new ceiling fan, or some new light bulbs?  How about a new showerhead?
 
9/19-9/21 is Florida's Sales Tax Holiday for new Energy Star and WaterSense Products.  No sales tax will be collected on the first $1,500 of the sales prices of a new, qualifying Energy Star or WaterSense product.  The exemption is limited to a single purchase for each specific type of qualifying item having a sales price of $500 or more.  There are no quantity limits on qualifying items with a sales prices of less than $500.

FREE National Parks Annual Pass to Military Families

"America the Beautiful" -The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, is FREE (regular price: $80) for Military, their families, and the dependents of deployed military in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as most members of the US Reserves and National Guard.  Proper military ID is required.  Non-transferable.

The pass covers the pass owner and 3 accompanying adults ages 16+ at sites where per person entrance fees are charged.   No entry fee charged for children 15 and under.  The pass can be obtained in person at Federal recreation sites that charge entrance or standard amenity fees.

FREE Ghost & History Walking Tour In Safety Harbor 10/14

The Safety Harbor Library is hosting a FREE Ghost and History Walking Tour of downtown Safety Harbor on Tuesday, October 14th, 7pm-9pm.   The tour, presented by Yellow Snow Productions, is recommended for aged 14+ and departs from Safety Harbor Library on 101 2nd Street N.
